I Just Say No

I just say, "No."
My better half has been trying to teach me to say, "No, thank you," but that hasn't been working out too well for her. She says I'm too mean/intimidating.

People hate it when you just tell them, "No." In fact, it most often really disturbs them and/or pisses them off...but I find it to be most effective.

Part 3 - The wrap up

Finally made it to the end of this project. I had to take time for some distractions like playing gigs and recording stuff (oh yeah, that) but it was never far from my mind.

I screwed around with the hoses and tube levels for a few days just trying to get a decent water level and good flow without any leaks. As you can tell, I wasn't in my right mind putting furniture skids on it. I jacked it up higher to facilitate drainage and put some freaking casters on it. It's still pretty heavy.

Pt. 2 Recycling stuff - windows -> greenhouse -> hydroponic system

Never being one to leave well enough alone, I ran across this link: http://www.instructables.com/id/Hydroponic_Food_Factory/ and decided to wade in feet first. Literally. Never tried hydroponics before so there he goes.

I started off with PVC black pipe, 6 4 ft lengths. I picked up a dozen end caps at the same time.

After a little bit of eyeballin', I allowed a few inches for tubing and came up with 42" lengths.

It's the Economy Stupid

I don't know about you but I am sick and friggin tired of hearing only about the economy. I'm tired of the way the media (all of the media, yes, Fox included) covers it. Foreclosures are up 50%. Ok, let's put that in perspective. This time last year, the rate was 8%, now it's 12% which means that 88% of us are still paying our mortgages on time, as contractually agreed.

*tap* *tap* is this thing on?

So this will be the future home of my chronicle towards madness and/or a completed rock n' roll record...

Spiffy! Thanks Spock!

Gardening and other ways to watch stuff grow...

Spring has sprung here in sunny SoCal. I've spent some time digging out the weeds of winter, tilling in new fertile soil and planting new ideas and I look forward to seeing what grows this year.

Even a weed has an interesting cycle even though it offers no fruit or flower. Sometimes watching its pointless struggle can give pause to thought. It only asks for a bit of sun and water to complete its cycle in the season and in its inevitable withering still offers itself back to the soil. There's a bit of poetry in that small insignificant moment, maybe even a twisted metaphor about life.

Pro Tools Tips for today

I don't really have any tips today but I figured I would just post something so here it is.

I love this site and all the people have really worked hard getting it up and running.

Can't than them enough. So maybe I won't even try. Yeah that's it. I'll just take it all for granted.

Peace out.

Why Can't People Google

Yea I should be testing things, but this has kind of pissed me off.... and since I have a blog.

I keep finding that technical people have no idea how to look up something with Google. We run into problems, bugs or errors, and the first thing to do is to WIG OUT

Then you blame something else, and bitch about not understanding.

Next you open up Google type in words that have nothing to do with the problem. Of course you can't find an answer so point the finger again, or if you are on my team, wig out some more at my desk.
