The Studio

Since 1989, we have lived by the belief that talent combined with good tools and a creative atmosphere will often result in extraordinary works.
After twenty years, the Ribshack, the resulting facility, still reflects those very principles and continues to grow and make wonderfully talented friends.  Going against popular flow, the Ribshack is not a full service studio and doesn't try to be one. It is a creative private retreat geared toward the songwriter; producing record quality tracks. Mixing and mastering are largely a matter of taste, personal preference, and genre. While we know extremely talented engineers to whom we can refer our clients, these choices are always left to the individual.

Our primary tools are the 24 channel Nyquist Radar and the Toft ATB 32 channel board, mixed down to Wavelab 6 with a strong selection of high quality plugins. There is a broad selection of high quality and in some cases rare recording mics on hand and anything else is available on short notice as a rental. A growing collection of eclectic instruments is always available.
Outboard gear includes 1176's, SSL KMR 2000, a plate reverb and various other tools. The room has a vintage '71 Ludwig drum kit, a 1935 Hammond model A with an H2 cabinet, an assortment of guitar tube amps, and an Ampeg V4Br bass rig.

Small and compact, we have local accommodations capable of keeping up to six people in comfort for up to a week of intensive tracking. For further information call 323 493 0223 or email bbkong07 at gmail.com.
